This is an exciting opportunity to join GMED NA and work as an Experts and Subcontractors Unit Manager with our external partners that are Experts, Product Reviewers, Clinicians, and Auditors.

This role will ideally suit a candidate with an ability to work well in a team, be highly organized, reliable, accountable and business oriented.

The Experts and Subcontractors Unit Manager’s main mission is to manage and coordinate the external partners’ network in conformance with GMED’s strategy, quality policies and applicable procedures. As per his/her technical knowledge, he/she will also perform public trainings in line with GMED’s scope of intervention and/or manage internal projects (digitalization, methods).

Essential Functions

Network management:

  • In connection with the compliance, operations, and finance departments, ensure the correct yearly sizing of the externals network in terms of:
    • Quality: competencies (qualification to acquire/maintain), aligning with internal process & procedures
    • Quantity: number of days available
    • Pricing: as per the internal price list
  • Know the external partner’s market (stakeholders, dynamics, expectations), to establish and pilot the tactical action plan to:
    • Anticipate any risk regarding the network integrity
    • Foresee any opportunity for the network (new partner, new way of working, and business opportunity)
    • Strengthen our assets and reduce our weaknesses
  • Ensure external buy-in to the GMED NA’s strategy by implementing an adequate network animation

External assessors’ management:

  • Be the internal driver in terms of
    • Knowing the external talent market: from the external assessors’ needs to the acquisition channels identification (market survey, channels volumes);
    • Externals acquisition: from the promotion to the contract signature (communicate, promote, collect applications, follow interviews with internals, follow qualification path setup, assess need adequacy, advise on logistics, advise about decisions, offers, negotiations, follow-up to obtain offer signature;
    • Externals preboarding: from the contract signature to the qualification activities planned (coordinate and optimize the planning qualification activities, incorporate external in GMED values)
    • Externals onboarding: from planning the qualification activities to the initial qualification announcement (coordinate the advancement of qualification activities, manage the externals ramp up phase in assessment activities knowledge, external talent engagement: install regular feedback);
    • Externals engagement: manage the performance of each external (quality, volume, pricing, adhering to GMED values), perform APR and regular feedback, manage the pool potentials and opportunities (additional days, qualification extensions, etc.), support the pool with logistic dimensions issues;

Options as per profile:

  • Contribute to the training center public offer development by identifying training opportunities in her/his field of intervention, building training material, resources or literature;
  • Perform public trainings on his/her expertise fields

Project management in digitalization or methods field:

  • Steer and take an active part in digitalization projects (from new tools needs to their deployment) as per GMED NA digitalization roadmap;
  • Steer and be an actor in operations methods improvement projects as per GMED NA projects portfolio strategy

Who You Are

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical related field (Engineering, Bio-engineering, Biomedical Sciences, …)
  • Experience in direct or transversal management
  • Experience in external sourcing
  • Experience in medical devices or certification industry is appreciated

For trainer:

  • 4+ years of experience in medical devices industry
  • Experience as a public trainer in the medical device field

For project manager:

  • Experience in digitalization project management
  • Experience in methods or improvement project management

Preferred Experience:

  • Trainer in medical devices certification fields
  • Project management skills
