Creation of subsidiary GMED Asia: GMED continues to expand internationally

GMED, a subsidiary of the LNE group, is expanding its certification business with the creation of GMED Asia, based in Hong Kong. This new entity offers a local service to manufacturers of medical devices and in vitro diagnostic medical devices in Asia, and will facilitate access to the international market.

Since becoming a subsidiary in 2018, GMED has accelerated its internationalization strategy, and now covers North America via its subsidiary GMED North America, Northern Europe with LNE-GMED UK, and now Asia through GMED Asia.

The creation of GMED Asia confirms the company’s ambition to position itself as a certification partner for medical devices, with a broad technical scope (CE and UKCA markings, Taiwan technical cooperation program, MDSAP program, etc.) and growing international resources. GMED is thus able to provide the best possible support to medical device manufacturers worldwide.

Asia represents a significant market for medical device manufacturers. GMED has therefore decided to set up operations there, and will be able to benefit from the 20 years local experience of the LNE Group’s teams, creating synergies as opportunities arise.

Managing Director of LNE-LP Asia, Frederic Rocher will also head up this new subsidiary in Hong Kong as General Manager. Frederic has significant experience of the Asian market, having spent almost 30 years working for various companies in the electrical equipment, distribution and testing laboratory sectors. For the past 17 years, Frédéric has been working to expand the LNE Group in Asia, where he has developed a sales network and several strategic partnerships.

The creation of GMED Asia confirms the ambitions of GMED and its subsidiaries, as well as the LNE Group, to serve the healthcare industry on a large scale, supporting innovation while enhancing patient safety.
